Two Cutting Edge athletes enjoyed excellent results at the North American Cup in Cleveland this past weekend. On Sunday, Kerr Hutchinson finished an impressive 13th out of 310 competitors and achieved the second best Canadian result in Division 1 men’s épée. Then on Monday, Leonora MacKinnon finished 8th out of 145 in j
unior women’s épée and had the best Canadian result.

Athletes from Cutting Edge Fencing competed at the first national level competition of the season this past weekend. The club’s newest member, Leonora Mackinnon, who recently decided to compete for Canada instead of her native Great Britain, took the gold in senior and silver in junior women’s épée. A number of club members just missed the podium and achieved top 8 results, including Matthias Leuprecht in under-15 men’s sabre, Danielle Burghgraef in cadet women’s sabre, Zaq Quinsey in U15 men’s sabre, and Kerr Hutchinson in junior men’s épée.
