Athletes from Cutting Edge Fencing competed at the first national level competition of the season this past weekend. The club’s newest member, Leonora Mackinnon, who recently decided to compete for Canada instead of her native Great Britain, took the gold in senior and silver in junior women’s épée. A number of club members just missed the podium and achieved top 8 results, including Matthias Leuprecht in under-15 men’s sabre, Danielle Burghgraef in cadet women’s sabre, Zaq Quinsey in U15 men’s sabre, and Kerr Hutchinson in junior men’s épée.
The new youth/cadet program booklet from the Ontario Fencing Association has been published. It contains information regarding the next Ontario Summer Games and Quest for Gold selection criteria.
