In order to introduce the youth fencer aged 9 & up to competitive fencing, Cutting Edge Fencing offers Youth Learn to Fence & Advanced programs. These programs, which run from September to the end of April or early May, will teach the basic fundamental skills of balance, coordination, agility, speed and reaction, provide an introduction to the fencing disciplines of épée & sabre, and give the new fencers a taste of competitive fencing in a fun environment. Those fencers who demonstrate an interest & ability to pursue competitive fencing training after completing the intermediate program (orange armband) will then be invited to join either the epee or sabre advanced training group. The minimum age for these programs is 9 years old.
